Diamond- Superbad

Diamond, from the group Crime Mob, is breaking out with the debut of her new video Superbad, which features Cee-Lo. Dr. Teeth directed the video and it's got a catchy beat. I'm interested to see if she'll take off.

What do you think about it?

Unreleased Version of Cosmic Journey!

On Solange's sophomore album, Sol-Angel and the St. Hadley Dreams, she has a track on there featuring Bilal called Cosmic Journey. Now of course, the album version is on point. But recently via twitter a friend of mine came across the Unreleased Version. Which I think should have been a bonus track on the album, because this version is pretty damn HOT!

Check it out HERE and let me know what you think!

PEDX presents Always Dope

Last night if you didn't make it, you missed one hell of a night at Red Maple for Always Dope. Every Tuesday night, PEDX brings you this event and it's LITERALLY Always Dope!
I made sure I was in attendance because I wanted to see one of the featured guests perform, by the name of Jasmine Solano. I first got introduced to her by one of my favorite blogs, Hip Hop At Lunch. They did a really great interview with her, check it out below.

I found it real interesting about her background in music and radio, the fact that she's a DJ & that she's an artist as well. It's not too many women out here making real moves like that, so you gotta respect a lady on her grind as such. Plus I was digging her recent single That's Not It.

Last night she got on the turn tables and gave Baltimore a taste of what her Philly/NYC style is about and right afterwards she performed her single. She had the crowd rockin' right along with the featured DJ, Hip Hop Dan!

Check out her Brooklyn performance of the song right below:

Bilal: Interview

I can't begin to explain how EXCITED I was to have the oppurtunity to conduct this interview. Bilal has been around for some time and has made some CLASSIC music for us. I fell in love with his first album, 1st Born Second. It's a great album that you have to have in your collection. And even though his 2nd album hadn't made it out officially, it too was a Master Piece. He's done plenty of collaborations, and I always try to keep up with his work. Well now he's returned, no longer signed to Interscope and he's making his way back into the spot light.
Check out the interview before his show at Rams Head Live in Baltimore on Dec. 16, 2009.

This was a round table interview with other journalist and myself.

Thanks again to Gypsy Soul for this oppurtunity!

Terrence Cunningham

I can't tell you enough how if you haven't been to Gypsy Soul's Ear Candy event yet... YOU'RE TOTALLY MISSING OUT ON GREAT TALENT. You'll never be disappointed. This week they had 3 great performances. Bobby Marvin had the oppurtunity to interview Mr. Terrence Cunningham.

He opened his set up with a classic from Prince, How Come You Don't Call Anymore? Now we all know not just anyone can sing a classic as such, but Terrence KILLED it. He did an amazing job while singing and playing the keyboard.

You can hear his lovely song Falling on his MySpace page, but you have to see him perform it live. He almost brought me to tears with this one.
His album has just been recorded and I'm looking forward to getting my copy of that.

Check out the interview here conducted by Bobby Marvin of Hue Voices.

Poetik Force- The Questions

Poetik Force feat. Sean Wyze & Blakface- The Questions

You heard Poetik Force on the High Power Moves single, That Spliff with Hardwerk and El Prez. So now he's dropping his first single for his anticipated 2010 release The Mary Jane LP. You gotta check out this track that was produced by Jansport J. The Questions is definitely a smooth track, so I can only imagine what he'll have in store for us on the rest of the project.

Teck Photography

Names: Terrelle Pettis (Photo) & Suraju Jolaoso (Video)

Bio: "To Make Something Out of Nothing"...

Plenty of people that aspire to take photos don't even fathom the
ability to - whether because of prices and other self-depreciating
things. Our aim is to take whatever negative ideas associated with
photo taking and dispel them.

The prices aren't through the roof - we're all aware of the recession.
More importantly, we take our customer's aims and goals into account
and make the best with what we have. Some of our shoots were in the
most random of places - a Metro station in DC, a park in Wheaton or
the city streets of Baltimore.

Trust and believe that even if you come to us with Nothing... we'll
make Something of it.

Featured Artist Friday: Nov. 27

Outkast- Chronometrophobia
You gotta love the movie Idlewild, it's been a while since I've been captivated by a musical. And Big Boi & Andre 3000 don't disappoint us with their work. The soundtrack for the movie is a great album to have in your collection. This happens to be one of my fav's off of it.

Jaspects- Falling
I had the opportunity to interview this band and I was able to see them perform (check the archives for this interview). It's rare we come across real musicians anymore. And this group definitely does a great job at blending jazz, soul & hip hop together to make some excellent & clean cuts.

Miguel- Sure Thing
Every song that I hear from this guy, I've liked. Here's someone who knows how to make GOOD MUSIC! Seriously. And this was the first song that I heard from him and it's my favorite. I have yet to become tired of hearing it.

Wale- Pretty Girls
Probably one of the best artists to come out of the DMV area in a good while. I'm happy to see someone who's been able to blend GoGo into mainstream music. His current & freshmen album, Attention Deficit, is getting a lot of attention in the streets. So far, people are definitely feeling his message.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Hardwerk & Jansport J- High Power Moves

You gotta get that High Power Moves album!

These guys have been making some noise around the west coast. I actually had the oppurtunity to meet Jansport J after a show over the summer, and he's a real chill guy.
The beats are hitting hard and the lyrics follow right along with them. You'll definitely find some tracks on here for your taste. They teamed up with my boy El Prez on the track That Spliff and it's really getting alot of recognition. I've got some other favorites on there like Gremlins & Fly As Me!

Check out the video here of the guys talking about the project:

Hawdwerk & Jansport J- High Power Moves EPK from HighPowerMovesTV on Vimeo.

Featured Artist Friday: Nov. 20

Bobby Creekwater- Business Man
I'm feeling this track, you gotta feel this one ESP. if you're on your grind like Mr. Creekwater! It's on the Perfect Attendance compilation & his newest drop The Day It All Made $ense.

Greenspan- Poetry In Motion
Baltimore's own, Greenspan is extra smooth on this track. I'm digging the production work with this one. Got Green? is what you need to check out to get up on who Greenspan is.

Supe & DJ Soundwave- Outta Here
You gotta get on that Ooo Yeah Package, here's another Baltimore artists doing what he does best. AND my homeboy Ace Boogie does some production on this mixtape, like this track here. Shout out to him for putting me up on this project.

Hawdwerk & Jansport J feat. No One (Noni Spitz & Dae One) & Chevy Jones- Fly As Me
These guys are definitely making High Power Moves, the name of their recent mixtape says it all.

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Supe- The Ooo Yeah Package

Often people ask me who in Baltimore is making some good noise... where here's a project show casing just that. @Mr.Supe, as he's known on Twitter, is a Baltimore native who's now in ATL. But he hasn't forgotten where he comes from. He's got a bunch of collaborations on this project like: Smash, 100 Grandman & JD. And he also teamed up with some local producers such as Ace Boogie. Check out the DOPE ass beats and rhymes on this one.

I can honestly say there's something on here for everyone. They've got a great variety on this project. I'm looking forward to seeing what The Love Meds will come up with next!!

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Featured Artist Friday: Nov. 13

The Knux- Roxxanne
I like the Knux, I think they aren't getting the attention that they deserve. This was one of my favorite tracks off their last album Remind Me in 3 Days

Diz Gibran- New Religion
What can I say about Dizzy other than this guy is the TRUTH. This is probably a real controversial track of his, but I'm glad he made it. I know alot of people who can relate to it. And more artists need to take time out to make music like this.

Madlib- Slim's Return
It's a CLASSIC... what else needs to be said.

Brittany Bosco- City of Nowhere
As most of you already know, I'm a new fan of Ms. Bosco. Spectrum 2.0 is so ill! You have to check this out if you haven't done so.

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Featured Artist Friday: Nov. 6

Royce Da 5'9 ft. Busta- Dinner Time
Even though Busta is my FAVORITE MC of all time... I was feeling this track. And I've been paying attention to Royce Da 5'9 for some time now. So I like where they went with this one.

Soul Cannon- Dilapidated Buildings
Shout out to A Baltimore Love Thing for putting me onto to this band from their mixtape. It's one of the early tracks on that project and I see why. It's a really heart felt song and the music is serious. You gotta love a real band, we don't have enough these days. I was digging this track since day one and I'm still blasting it in my car as I drive around Baltimore.

The Clipse ft. Bilal- Nightmares
I always thought this was an interesting combination with The Clipse and Bilal. I'm a huge fan of Bilal, and I love flow of The Clipse. So I feel like this song really got slept on.

Amerie- Heard Em All
Amerie is trying to make her comeback, but I feel like she isn't being appreciated as she should. They have this video in rotation but she just isn't getting a heavy push from the media as I think she should.

DANK- My Planet
I saw these guys perform at Always Dope this week and this song kinda reminds me of Hollyweerd. I like the feel of it! I'm looking forward to seeing what else I'll be hearing from this group. Baltimore is making moves!!

**********************************************************

AS Always I want to hear your feed back as well. Be sure to leave your comments... other wise, how will I know??

You gotta go check out ALWAYS DOPE presented by: PEDX at Red Maple on Tuesday nights for the Hip hop show & party! And I'm not talking about Rap... I really mean Hip hop! I had to go check it out for myself and it's as good as it sounds. If you've been to Red Maple any other night, you know it's a nice and chill atmosphere. The drinks are always Nice and they've got the place lounged out with couches.
PEDX brings you local talented artist from the Baltimore area who are really making moves. Last night, Nov. 3, I was able to see DANK perform a few of their songs. (Be sure to go to their site and check out that song My Planet)
The house DJ of the night definitely knows his crowd, hitting classic and NEW hip hop beats that had everybody bobbing that classic head move to a good song.

Redman- Coc Back Video

"Caddys" ft. Gripplyaz, Young Trimm & A.leon Craft (prod. SMKA)

If you downloaded the Perfect Attendance mixtape I posted, you're familiar with this song right here. Just one of the dope tracks on that collection.

Friday, October 30, 2009

Featured Artist Friday: Oct. 30, 2009

Panacea- Pops Said
It's got a good Hip Hop/Soulful feel to it.

Smash & Young C- Bit 2 Much
Local Baltimore artists. I can't resist the beat at all!

Nas ft. Olu Dara- Bridging the Gap
I loved the fact that Nas took time to do a track like this. More artists need to pay homage to where/whom they've come from.

Mos Def & Massive Attack- I against I
I first came across this track from the Blade II movie. They have a scene of them walking into the Vampire club, and this song compliments the slow motion walk SOOOO well!

Well there you have it folks. This weeks line up for Featured Artist Friday!!
Let me know what you think about any, if not all, of these songs.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Raheem DeVaughn ft. Ludacris- Bulletproof

When I first heard this song, I fell in love with it. I'm hoping it gets more recognition now that they have a video out for it. Straight up this kind of reminds me of a young modern Marvin Gaye, it has that feel to it. It's been way too long since we've had a song with a real message in it.

Yet, I wanna hear what you think! How do you feel about this song??

Hollyweerd presents: The Mandatory Mandate Trailer

Hollyweerd presents: The Mandatory Mandate Trailer

Check this video out of Hollyweerd, making it do what It do! I love this group. I've been following them for some time now. I've got a few of their projects, and I love everything that I've heard from them. This is definitely a group that thinks out of the box. Many of you may remember them from their circulating hit "Weerdo"... they even have a dance for it.

Their latest release Candy for Kleptos has got some really great tracks on it as usual. They really are an entertaining group, with funny movie sound clips for interludes incorporated through out the album. They've got collaborations with artists such as: Colin Munroe, Kid Sister, Jaspects and Grip Plyaz.

Off this last project, I'd have to say the track Classic is one of my Fav's!! Gotta love a song with alot of bass.

And because I love ya, I'll repost Candy for Kleptos for those of you who don't have it yet.

Pac Div- Pac Div (Video)

The latest video from Pac Div (aka Pacific Division). I have to say this is probably one of my favorite groups from out of the West right now. It's been a long time since Hip Hop has seen such a strong group lyrically like this. The type of flare & hype they give you has been missed for a good while. I look forward to what other projects they'll be bringing us in the future.

fisdj? What's that you say??

fisdj?
‘fizz – dij’

what is fisdj?

Fisdj represents the option to not conform to the mainstream. It is a jumble of 5 letters to create a word that serves no other purpose but to break away from all the rest. Fisdj is so different that it creates its own lane and leaves an imprint on those who look at it and further more those who explore its meaning. I strive to be different and versatile with my fotography and persona. Always changing and redefining itself, fisdj will always be the epitome of being yourself.

Q: What makes fisdj.foto set apart from all the rest?

A: Well, like most people say, the proof is in the pudding.
But, to give a little bit of insight on myself, I have always been a creative person and been into the arts as a kid up until now. I enjoy being able to define myself through mediums.

Q: What kind of definition do I incline to?

A: Well, I am very critical about anything I do. I strive to have anything I produce to be completely professional and clean. I become entranced in the aesthetics behind any artwork. I am coining any kind of photography inclining to those facets as ‘fotography’.
I also love to work with people. My main priority is to always satisfy my clients to the utmost extent.

Q: What kind of fotography do you do?

A: Currently, I am concentrating my focus in Wedding fotography and Portrait fotography. But I don’t constrain myself to just those areas of work.
